Service Awaits! 

During the summer is a great time to get caught up on service if you are behind!

Note to Seniors/ Parents of Seniors: Students at Verbum Dei must complete their service requirements in order to participate in senior activities (prom, GradNite, etc.) and in order to receive their diploma in the spring.

Service Requirements

All Grade Levels:

• A max of 2 Justice Assignments (5hrs each) may be completed during the year (10hrs total)
• In-person service may be either direct (interacting with those you service, e.g. tutoring) or indirect (not necessarily interacting with those you serve, e.g. helping at a community garden)
• All in-person service must be completed at a non-profit organization
• A family member cannot be the service supervisor

Freshmen (c/o 2026):

• 20hrs required

Sophomores (c/o 2025):

• 30hrs required (should have 50hrs by end of year with previous year's hours)
• Must complete at least 2 types of in-person service - this will be further explained in theology class

Juniors (c/o 2024):

• 30hrs required (should have 70hrs by end of year with previous years' hours)
• Must complete at least 2 types of in-person service - this will be further explained in theology class

Seniors (c/o 2023):

• 30hrs (need to have 90hrs by end of year with previous years' hours) 
• Cannot attend Prom or GradNite & cannot receive diploma until all 90hrs are completed
